Been a fan of the Pokemon Comics "Random Doom" by fellow Deviant *BehindtG. Found out recently that she's having a contest to re-design her comic logo, and I couldn't help myself.

I wanted to do something...exploasive. Explosions seem to radiate with the word "Doom" so that was the start of my design basis.

Since the comic is about pokemon, I wanted the logo to have a pokemon being summoned, and since pokemon trainers never know what pokemon are in the arsenal of their opponent, is teems ideal to emphasize the "Random" side of the title. I also kept the random colors for the letters that *BehindtG used in her original logo for a touch of nostalgia.

The hardest part of the design was the Pokeball...never made one before, so I had to look up tons of references on what an open ball looks like. I even made myself watch some old Pokemon episodes to get a good idea on how it looks. Its not exact to the finer details, but the ball look good enough to me.

I added a Gengar's grin to the light summon because I always felt the Gengar's stare and grin was very doom-ish in itself.

Hope it fairs well in the contest. ^_^
