MLP FIM: Game of Stones by SaturnGrl MLP FIM: Game of Stones by SaturnGrl
Ha! Ha ha! Its a joke! Like Game of Thrones! HAHAHA!

........

Ok, yes, my humor is sad....anyhoo...

Lián is back, and she's got a couple of friends. The little green dragon is named Jade, and she belongs to ~QueenCold. She really liked my earlier submissions of Lián and said some really nice things about her design. I got inspired to make some art featuring her baby dragon with Spike with Lián. In this image, Spike and Jade are visiting Neigh-Beyul, most likely accompanying their chaperons on the trip. Lián was happy to meet and entertain new dragons from beyond the valley. She thought it would be a good idea to teach them how to play Go, so she borrowed her master's board and stones...

As you can see, there seems to have been some mis-communication in the instruction, as Spike seems to have mistaken the stones as a complimentary snack. Jade is sure they will get in trouble, and poor Lián just can't believe Spike would eat her Master's Go Stones! Will these baby dragons be able to fix what they have done? What sort of adventures will they go on for new jade Go Stones? Will they get caught in the end? Who knows!

On an educational note; Yes, modern standard Go Stones are black and white, but in the ancient royal courts of China, it was not uncommon for Go Stones to be made of jade or other gems.

A Game of Critiques.
First off, the Characters.
You've done well in capturing the typical MLP Style, the Colored lines for the Characters, the general bodily shape for the Dragons, and of course, those EYES.
For the Objects in the Scene, their done well, about as good as inanimate objects could be done in the MLP style.
You've done well in capturing the Expressions, with the "What are you DOING!?","No Stop!" and "What?" coming through very clearly.
There's only one wrong thing I see here.
The Background. It looks like you just Paint Bucket Textured it in two Seconds. No Furniture or anything really. Just a Room with Wallpaper and a Nice Rug. Plus the actual Go Stone Board looks as though it should be tilted down a bit more, so it would look like it's actually fittong onto the floor better.
Overall, you did very well with the Characters, Expressions, Style, and Objects, just the Background is the only thing.
What do you think?

They are the playing pieces for the game Go. They are called "wéiqí" or just Go Stones.
The ones here are made of Jade, and since Spike has an eating obsession with gems, he couldn't help himself.

Spike: "Dear Princess Celestia, today I learned that when you make a mistake, the first instinct is to try and fix it yourself to keep from getting in trouble. But after everything Lian, Jade, and I went thought today, I've realized that sometimes it's best to just admit what you did wrong and ask for forgiveness. You may be punished, but at least you'll be free of your guilt, and you'll be able to freely ask for help to fix what you messed up. This makes it easier for yourself and the pony, or dragon, you hurt by accident. And if you truly show them you're sorry and do your best to fix your mistake, then you'll be forgiven and put on the right path to regaining his or her trust."
Jade: "Spike, we need more bandages over here!"
Lian: "And some slave too!"
Spike: *sigh* Fine, I'm coming!
Lian: You know, if we all just got some acupuncture-
Spike and Jade: NO!
Lian: *sigh* Western dragons. . .

Sounds like a good letter to end the show. Now I can only imagine what sort of disaster these three got into to replace the Go stones. lol
Also, I think you meant "Salve" instead of "Slave" ^_^.
