Some of you may remember that I was working on a project for my 이모 (Auntie) 문주 ("Moon Joo"). She had asked me to make for her and her husband some little chao figurines as a little Lamb for her Year of the Ram birthday year, and a little Boar for her husband's Year of the Boar birthday year.

Well, I finally finished them, but since the finished product was a surprise I've had to resist putting up pictures of them until after they arrived in Korea. Well, she received them at last, and she and her husband loved them.
And now I can share them with the world.

Along with the figurines, I included several accessories that Minju did not expect to see, including the Custom Decorated Display Box, the Traditional Korean Wedding Ducks, and the Korean Wedding accessories on the figures.

I really went all out on this project. The Display box I picked up at the local Hobby Town. It was a simple plastic display box for small cars, like collector's Hot Wheels and such. I was really lucky, because the Lamb with her hat just made clearance height.
I used Super Light Sculpey to press mold the little purple lotus flowers, and I used the leaves from a plastic "eucalyptus" plant to make the Lotus lilies.
The Lotus and leaves were then mounted on Silver Flower Bead Cap and used Mod Podge to fasten it to the Display Box. I then fastened small silver chains to the ends of the bead cap. The silver chains are decorated with dangling beads of a spring green and clear lavender Czech Glass, and are finished with silver hearts and dragonflies on the ends.
The Wedding ducks were from a little bag of plastic farm ducks I got from a doll house section in Hobby Lobby. I just stripped off their old paint and re-painted them to look like traditional Korean Wedding Ducks.

This project took several weeks to assemble.
All in all, the project turned out really nice, and I'm super happy that Minju likes her gift. This also gives others a good view on my customizing capabilities with my Chao figureines.

Additional project: Infinity Love Snakes

All my chao are hand made, hand painted, and glazed with a matte finish on the bodies and a gloss for the eyes, and stand about 1 inch tall.
